Preparing for a Quality Assurance Review in 2019

 

Quality Assurance reviews continue into 2019 and if your firm is due a review you will receive notice of an upcoming quality assurance review by email.

Members should be aware that the CPA Ireland quality assurance process is conducted in accordance with Companies Acts 2014 and Bye Law 7.

CPA firms are selected for a Quality Assurance visit on both a risk and random basis. The criteria used for risk selection include number, size and nature of audit assignments retained, previous quality assurance history and disciplinary, licensing or other regulatory history.

All CPA audit firms will be selected for a Quality Assurance visit at least once in a six year cycle in accordance with the legislation. Firms granted audit registration for the first time will be listed for review to take place within the first eighteen months of operation. Non- audit firms are reviewed on a ten year cycle.
