Making your Annual Return for 2024 – some changes

In January 2024, CPA Practitioners and statutory auditors will receive instructions to renew their practising certificates, auditing certificates and statutory auditor status where relevant, for the year 1 April 2024 – 31 March 2025.

We would ask audit firms to check the public register of auditors, held by the CRO via CORE to ensure that the data held for their firm is correct. Any discrepancies should be notified to CPA Ireland immediately so that the data displaying in your annual return is correct (please check partners/directors, management board, address, firm name etc)

There are a number of changes to the 2024 annual return process as follows;
  • Amendments can be made to your CPD return after submission if you need to make a change.
  • Some additional firm declarations have been added to prepare for the commencement of IAASA’s Licensing Guidelines in 2024 as follows;
    • We confirm that we have taken steps to ensure that the firm and its principals and statutory auditors are fit and proper persons and consider that the firm is of good repute.
    • We confirm that we have reviewed the information on the public register of auditors and confirm that the information contained regarding this firm is correct.
Again for 2024, non-member statutory auditors will be required to make a CPD return for 2023.
