To engage our members with the exciting advancements in digital disruption CPA Ireland will host a landmark event, The Future Of Accountancy, in the first half of the year with leading experts in digital transformation, human creativity, strategic business advisory and the dramatic transformation the future holds for all of us both personally and professionally.
Our aim is to continue building a seamless digital platform through the development of our learning management system, Canvas; a platform that is customisable to suit our members specific needs and flexible enough to fit in with their home and work lives allowing users to maximise their learning potential.
The updated CPA syllabus will be launched at the end of March 2020, which will ensure that our students are future ready for the challenges that emerging and disruptive technologies will bring to the profession.
CPAs of the future will be expected to add value in an environment where information is abundant due to the technological advances in data production and artificial intelligence.
Our syllabus will also focus on the ethical issues facing accountants and their clients and how to respond and report on those issues using ethical judgement and professional scepticism.
Speaking of technology, CPA are delighted to announce that we are leading the technological charge by bringing our first level of examinations into the online realm, with online assessments and remote invigilation, which will offer enhanced security to our quality control processes around examinations and greater ease of logistics for our students who will be able to sit their exams in their homes or workplace. All other CPA examinations will go online by May 2021.
We continue on this technological theme in the completion of the changeover to online recording facility of all pre-qualification training for our students and their mentors. All students recording their training can now maintain and submit their records in an online environment on their personal CPA online space.
