DEARBHAIL MCDONALD  -
CONFERENCE CHAIRPERSON










Dearbhail McDonald is an award-winning Journalist, Author and Broadcaster. Dearbhail presented ‘Sunday with Dearbhail’ from 11am-1pm on BBC Radio Ulster. The show brought an in-depth look at current affairs, interviews, discussions and analysis, including an essential guide to the Sunday papers.

Dearbhail is president of the strategic committee of the Centre Cultural Irlandais in Paris, where she also holds the position of secretary of the board of the Foundation Irlandais. She is also a director and trustee of the St Stephen's Green Trust.

 

CAITRÍONA PERRY  -
JOURNALIST, AUTHOR, FORMER RTÉ WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT & CURRENT CO-PRESENTER OF THE SIX ONE NEWS











Caitríona Perry is a multi-award-winning Irish journalist, author, and broadcast news presenter. She is the former RTÉ Washington Correspondent and current co-presenter of the SixOne News. Caitríona has worked as a broadcast news correspondent since 2000. In addition to her home country of Ireland, Caitríona has reported on news stories across the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe and Australia. Following her time in Washington, she was described in the official record of the US Congress as having ‘done meaningful work to shed a spotlight on modern US Ireland relations and informed audiences in both America and Ireland’. 
In 2019, Caitríona published her second book, 'The Tribe: The Inside Story on Irish Power and Influence in US Politics', which examines the influence of Irish-American politics are and looks at what will happen the Irish-America relationship after Brexit. Caitríona has addressed conference and book festival audiences and some of the world's most prestigious universities across Ireland, the US, the UK and Europe on US politics, media literacy, and her work as a journalist.
 

DANIEL MCCONNELL  -
POLITICAL EDITOR,
THE IRISH EXAMINER










Daniel McConnell is the political editor of the Irish Examiner. Before that, he was group political correspondent with Independent News & Media, which publishes the Irish Independent, the Sunday Independent, the Herald and Independent.ie. He also previously worked with The Irish Times and The Sunday Times.
He is an award-winning journalist and a author of the 2016 best-seller 'Hell At the Gates" published by Mercier and the 2006 Sunday Times Guide to Secondary Schools in Ireland, published by Penguin Ireland. A graduate of University College Dublin (BA in History and Politics) and Dublin City University (MA in Journalism), he is a leading contributor to radio and television programmes on political matters. 

 

MARY WHITELAW - 
DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS, STRATEGY & SUSTAINABILITY, AIB










Mary Whitelaw is a member of AIB’s Executive Committee leading a number of group functions including the group’s strategy, sustainability and corporate affairs functions. Mary chairs AIB’s Group Sustainability Committee and, over the past number of years, she has been responsible for leading a groupwide transformation to place Sustainability are the heart of AIB’s business. Mary has held a number of senior leadership roles across the bank spanning retail, corporate and treasury businesses. Prior to joining AIB, Mary trained as an accountant and tax advisor with PwC.

 

ALAN FITZGERALD  -
TECHNOLOGY ADVISOR,
PRACTICE CONNECTIONS










Alan FitzGerald has spent nearly 30 years in technology, with 22 of those working in the accounting technology market. He established Practice Connections Advisory in 2015 based on demand from accounting firms looking for independent technology-agnostic input when faced with myriad technology choices in the search for specialist IT solutions suitable for their firms. Also know as "The Software Whisperer", Alan helps businesses and practitioners review, coordinate, and connect the pieces of a daunting array of tax and accounting software products in the market, helping them to approach these decisions with confidence. Originally from Waterford, Alan is now based in Melbourne, Australia.

Avril O'Hehir is Director of Administration (CFO) & Board Executive at Lidl Ireland & Lidl Northern Ireland, and has over 15 years professional experience in the competitive retail industry in Ireland and abroad. Avril has a passion for first-to-market technology that drives efficiencies and adds value to communities across the country. With extensive knowledge of strategic change management, company reorganisations, acquisitions and divestments, she thrives in fast-paced environments. 

 

ROWENA HENNIGAN  -
EDUCATOR & REMOTE INNOVATOR










Recently named in the top 25 Remote Work influencers in the world by Remote.io, Rowena Hennigan is an experienced Remote Work Leader, Expert and Lecturer. Rowena has been remote working since 2007, and her ethos is "work is not a place". She is the founder or RoRemote and two other remote ventures. She works with various Employee Assistance Programs to support positive habits and wellbeing in remote and home working.

 

JOHN MCGRANE - 
DIRECTOR GENERAL, BRITISH IRISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE










John McGrane is Director General of The British Irish Chamber of Commerce, a private sector organisation which he co-founded in 2011 to represent businesses with interests in the two islands and their economies.

He is a retired financial services professional having completed a 40 year career with the Royal Bank of Scotland / Ulster Bank Group in Ireland. John's career has spanned substantial initiatives in the enterprise and corporate sectors, both indigenous and foreign direct investment.

He is Founder of NSI Technology, a tech start-up which helps Not For Profits become Not For Losses. He is a Board Director at Dublin Chamber of Commerce and at The British Irish Chamber of Commerce and a number of charities.

John retains active roles in the Cultural, Tourism and Trade Development sectors, having served on a number of related Boards and Government Taskforces.
