CPA Ireland Diploma in Forensic Accounting

This Diploma, developed in conjunction with Grant Thornton, provides a comprehensive understanding of the core Forensic Accounting skills. This course will suit CPAs and other qualified accountants working in both industry and practice, particularly in the SME sector.

This course is delivered over five full-day sessions (9:15am - 4.30pm) between September and February.  Students can attend lectures in class in Dublin and also online via live streaming. Participants will be given access to our online learning management system, Canvas, where additional resources and activities will be made available.

CPD Credit: 40 hours (8 hours per day)

* Please note that the availability of the in-class option is limited. Places will be offered on a first-come basis. If you book the in-class option, you must attend at least 4 out of the 5 sessions in class. For those registered for the online live streaming option, you are requested to leave your camera on during the class to facilitate interaction with the lecturer and other participants.
 

I would recommend this course to anyone with even a passing interest in forensic accounting. If you don't work in the forensics field, the skills you learn are absolutely transferrable for accountants in audit or advisory.

The Role of the Forensic Accountant as an Expert

Understand the duties of a FA, and the different types of forensic jobs that may require an expert’s involvement

Investigating Fraud & Theft

Learn how an investigation works from start to finish and the various resources and tools available

Implementing an Investigation

Be aware the different interview techniques that could be implemented on an investigation.

Preparing for Court

Understand how to draft an expert report for court, the importance of being prepared for court and the expected court etiquette
