The proposal from the IAASB, is for a new stand-alone standard, designed specifically for the audits of less complex entities and has been developed to be understandable, clear and concise whilst still achieving audit quality.
In 2019, CPA members engaged and contributed to this project, supporting the need for a more concise auditing standard that was suitable for the audit of smaller entities and has resulted in this new proposal.
The public consultation is open until January 31st 2022. CPA Ireland will be responding and would be interested to hear the views of members.
