On 29 January 2018 the FRC announced the opening of an investigation in relation to KPMG’s audit of the financial statements of Carillion plc, for the years ended 31 December 2014, 2015 and 2016, and additional audit work carried out during 2017. They provided updates on the progress of the investigation in May 2018 and January 2019. In February 2019 they announced the opening of an investigation in respect of the audit of certain matters relating to the financial statements of Carillion plc for the year ended 31 December 2013.
