CPA Ireland was a Special Partner with the Eurasian Institutes of Certified Public Accountants Association at the prestigious International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) work shop in Almaty, Kazakhstan in September 2019.
The workshop was delivered by Dr Wayne Bartlett CPA, Chair of the CPA Ireland IPSAS Advisory Board. The workshop was held in conjunction with CPA Russia, CPA Kazakhstan, CPA Belarus and CPA Kyrgyzstan.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr Bartlett emphasised the importance of adopting IPSAS. “In recent years moves towards a consistent, high quality financial reporting framework for the public sector have accelerated significantly across the globe. IPSAS is at the forefront of this initiative, enabling accruals-based financial statements to be prepared that provide relevant, reliable and detailed information to inform a wide range of stakeholders. We in CPA Ireland are very proud of our unique contribution to the Eurasian Institutes of Certified Public Accountants Association and are honoured to have been invited to take part in this important workshop”.
Vladimir Zharinov, CEO/Vice President EICPA/CPARUSSIA commented “We are delighted to have CPA Ireland on board as our Special Partner for the IPSAS workshop, and we look forward to further collaboration between our organisations in our mission to advance the cause of higher accounting standards in our respective countries”
