Previous Career Experience:

Prior to moving to Boston, most of my career was spent in Treasury Finance. Initially I worked on Structured Notes & FX, then I went on to manage the central Treasury Finance team in London along with oversight of offshore teams. My team was responsible for IPV, overall accounting, liquidity reporting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting as it related to Treasury activity

When and Why did you move to the US?

2016, in addition to the day-to-day management of the Treasury Finance team in London, I represented Treasury Finance as the SME on a large European restructure from 2013 to 2015.  When the project was complete an opportunity arose in Boston, to work in a similar role with a more global view. I accepted the transfer and moved to Boston February 2016.

What does your current job involve?

I manage a team of Project Managers, Business Analysts and Data Stewards who as an overall team, deliver on desired large change events with an ultimate focus on General Ledger, Financial and Regulatory Reporting.

What advice would you have for an Irish CPA interested in working in the US?

Ensure you understand the type of visa available to you and the associated restrictions and requirements.
