Previous Career Experience: 

I initially worked in the corporate world starting as an Accounting Technician and then Assistant Accountant in the Cable TV industry before moving to Insurance Broking as a Financial Accountant. I moved to New York in 2011 and have been working with the United Nations as an Asset Accountant and Financial Accountant since 2012.

When and Why did you move to the US?

I moved to New York in 2011.

What does your current job involve?

Performing general financial duties including preparing monthly management accounts and budgeting as well as administering insurance and credit cards for the General Operations Unit of UNDP and assisting with the UNDP annual Financial Statements.

What advice would you have for an Irish CPA interested in working in the US?

Have a valid work visa and get in touch with some recruitment agencies.
