CPA Ireland is currently recruiting for a new CPD Executive

Position: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Executive

Reporting to: Director - Member Services

Applications are invited for the role of CPD Executive at CPA Ireland. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the design and deilvery of a large scale CPD programme through over 100 classroom courses, webinars and conferences. This is a creative and diverse role for someone wishing to build on existing learning and development experience.

The role is based at our Head Office  at 17 Harcourt St, Dublin D02 W963.

The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA Ireland) is one of the main Irish accountancy bodies, with in excess of 5,000 members and students.

The Institute’s membership operates in public practice, industry, financial services and the public sector and CPAs work in over 48 countries around the world.

The Institute is active in the profession at national and international level, participating in the Consultative
Committee of Accountancy Bodies – Ireland – CCAB (I) and together with other leading accountancy bodies,
the Institute was a founding member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) – the worldwide body.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and delivery of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for CPA Ireland through over 100 classroom events, conferences and web technology

  • Grow the CPD programme both in terms of variety of events offered, delivery modes and attendance at those events.

  • Research and keep up to date with subject matter developments within accountancy including Financial Accounting, Law and Regulation, Taxation, Audit and Practice Management

  • Perform annual training needs analysis within the CPA Ireland membership to ensure training needs are identified and met

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training delivery

  • Identify, develop relationships with, and manage subject matter experts

  • Effectively market the CPD programme through a variety of channels

  • Deliver on CPD budget

  • Source sponsors and exhibitors for CPA Ireland Conferences  (to include website advertising)

  • Oversee CPA Ireland Skillnet network

  • Meet Key Performance Indicators as agreed annually

 

The Individual

The attributes of the ideal candidate will include:

  • Knowledge and experience in learning and development, ideally in a professional environment.

  • Experience of web technology for delivery of learning.

  • Ability to work on own initiative to plan and complete multiple projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with external contributors, members,  colleagues, and other stakeholders.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Confident and energetic approach to work

  • A team player who is always willing to give a constructive contribution

  • Ability to promote CPD programme to members and non-members

  • Ability to secure sponsorship for various events and develop sustainable relationships with sponsors.

 
Other:

  • Graduate and/or professional qualification preferable

  • Driving licence as travel around Ireland will be required

  • IT literate - excellent MS skills familiar with MS Office and use of web applications as a promotional tool

  • Event management experience would be an advantage
