Assistant Accountant

Acumen & Trust

 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work alongside the Management Accountant, and you will be responsible for the day to day operations within the Finance Department

Key responsibilities include:

  • Updating of Acumen & Trust Bank Reconciliation from BOI Business On Line

  • Accounts Payable invoice and payment processing

  • Accounts Receivable: Receipts postings, Weekly Debtors reporting & Issuing Monthly Debtors Statements

  • Analysing & uploading of Commission statements to iTrust system and posting of Revenues to GL (Exchequer accounting system)

  • Month end Income Accruals (including Commissions) posted to GL

  • Client fee invoice processing and posting of Revenues to GL

  • Month end Expense Accruals and Prepayment postings to GL

  • VISA Statement & Staff Expenses Analysis and posting to GL

  • Review of P&L accounts and completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations

  • Updating of Cashflow graphs & Investment Fund valuations for monthly Management Accounts

  • Updating of Consolidated Expenses graphs with commentary for monthly Management Accounts

  • Debtors & Client Pension lodgements to Bank 

  • Acumen & Trust Pension Trustee/ Pension Settlement account EFT's & Bank Recs

  • Preparation of VAT bi-annual Returns

  • Assistance with the annual audits

  • Analysis of expenditure for annual budgets

  • Financial analysis required to track spending & revenues on company projects

  • Administration of company mobile phone account

Experience:
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years’ accounting experience gained in a Finance Department or Accounting firm

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with a strong attention to detail

Education:

Candidate must be a qualified Accounting Technician or studying for Professional Accountancy examinations (CPA/ACCA/CIMA)

Systems Experience:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Good working knowledge of an Accounting system/package is required

Ideal start date is Monday 4th March 2019, but this is negotiable.
