Waterstone Clinic are seeking an accounts assistant to join their finance team

Waterstone Clinic is a leading provider of assisted conception services in Ireland with headquarters in Cork and with locations in Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Waterford. We are seeking an accounts assistant to join our finance team to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing of all related transactions in the accounts section in accordance with company procedures.  The role is located at Waterstone Clinic, Lotamore House, Tivoli, Cork. This is a fulltime position working Monday to Friday.  

Main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Recording of transactions in the accounting system

  • Responsible for the management of accounts receivable including the reconciliation of daily takings and lodgements and assisting with the timely collection of outstanding accounts

  • Responsible for the management of accounts payable including the reconciliation of supplier statements and ensuring all queries are resolved quickly and effectively

  • Preparing supplier payment run for authorisation

  • Support the preparation of statutory returns

  • Assist with the management of petty cash and company credit cards

  • Process internal purchase orders and employee expenses

  • Assist with the preparation of service level agreements

  • Ordering and sourcing goods and services

  • General office administration duties including filing for financial and project records

  • Ad-hoc projects as required

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and the candidate will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the role within the organisation and the overall business objectives.


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Part or fully qualified CPA/ACCA/ATI

  • Team player who also works well independently who takes initiative and works constructively to achieve team goals

  • Strong IT skills and strong MS Excel skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills

  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • An ability to question and improve processes

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentational skills with an ability to handle queries in a professional and timely manner

  • Process-oriented with excellent attention to detail

  • A self-starter with a highly motivated attitude, as well as a strong desire to understand and add value to the business
