Now that you have completed your Accounting Technicians Ireland qualification what’s the next step?

We at CPA have a suggestion for you…….

As the pace of change continues to accelerate, you can take comfort in the fact that a professional accountancy qualification continues to be the cornerstone for following a successful career in accounting. A professional qualification is invaluable when it comes to long term security.

You now have the option to gain a qualification as a professional accountant and there has never been a better time to become a Certified Public Accountant.
CPA is one of the main accountancy bodies in Ireland with 5000+ members and students. The CPA designation is the most commonly held designation worldwide for professional accountants and the qualification enjoys wide international recognition. CPAs operate across all sectors including; financial services, insurance, IT, pharmaceutical as well as public practice.

As a graduate of Accounting Technicians Ireland, you are entitled to a number of attractive exemptions from the CPA exams.

Note: exemptions at Formation 2 may only be awarded if all four Admission Level exams are passed in one sitting. Should a student fail to pass all subjects in one sitting, exemptions at Formation 1 only will be granted upon completion of the IATI qualification. Students must obtain a mark of 50% or more in each subject at the first attempt.

If you obtained your Accounting Technicians qualification prior to 2009 click here for exemptions.

This will leave 2 subjects at Formation 2, 4 subjects at Professional 1 and 4 subjects at Professional 2.

The CPA qualification is open to all and you do not need to be working in a relevant area to start your study. Flexible study options are available at our approved educators around the country, including full time, part time, weekend and distance learning options. CPA E-Learning will now be available at F2 level fom September 2010.  In many cases you will have studied for your accounting technician’s qualification with an educator that also teaches the CPA qualification. If you have previous relevant experience it may be possible that it will count towards the three years relevant supervised training you must obtain to become a fully qualified CPA.
