Guide to In-Depth Competency Fields
It is the responsibility of each CPA Student to ensure that he/she satisfies the competence profile required by the Institute to gain full admission to Membership. This can only be achieved by adopting a committed, responsible and proactive approach to the management of his/her training and relationship with the employer/supervisor. The Institute offers support to CPA Students in the pursuit of the required competencies through the operation of an open door policy for advice and guidance in this area, throughout their training career. A Guide to In-Depth Competency Fields is available here.

Competency Guide and Return
TheCompetency Guide & Return is only required for students at Level 3 training. The Competence Guide & Return is signed off by your employer/supervisor and specifically refers to the relevant technical competencies, professional values, ethics and attitudes that they have observed you demonstrate in your training.

Please note, that on Form 2 of the Competency Guide & Return form, you are required to complete four individual In-Depth Competence statements across two of the six areas identified in the Guide to In-Depth Competency Fields  .The In-Depth Competence statements must specifically relate to the In-Depth Competence Fields as outlined in Guide to In-Depth Competency Fields.
