Concessionary Sitting    €100  

Annual Subscription

Each Student-Member shall pay an annual subscription. The amount of such subscription shall be determined by Council.

The Annual Subscription shall be payable in advance on the first day of September in each year. Any Student Member, shall, ipso facto, cease to be a Student Member in the event of his/her annual subscription being in arrears for three months from the date on which such subscriptions become payable.

The Council shall have power at it's discretion to suspend the operation of this Bye-Law. In the case of a person who has ceased to be a Student-Member under this Bye-Law the Council may, at its discretion, readmit him/her to Student-Membership upon such conditions as Council may deem fit.

A full year's subscription shall be payable upon acceptance as a registered Student-Member of the Institute. A Student-Member is obliged on payment of the Annual Subscription to inform the Secretary of their current residential and business addresses.

Please note, that the above fees do not include include the Annual Member Subscription. Students should note that upon admission to membership, they are required to pay an Annual Member Subscription. The Annual Member Subscription for 2010 is €544.

 

Re-Registration
Information is available from the CPA Institute to students wishing to renew their student membership of the Institute. Re-registering is a simple process and assistance is available to former CPA students who are interested in resuming their CPA studies.

A fee of €190 applies to all re-registered students. This fee covers Registration fee, Subscription fee and exemption fees. However, students should note that should they be entitled to any further exemptions from when they first registered they will have to pay for these exemptions on an individual basis. The fees for such exemptions - as listed above will apply.

Concessionary Sittings
Where, due to some unforeseen exceptional or extenuating circumstance(s), a student has not passed the Institute’s examinations within the permitted timeframe, the student may apply to the Education and Training Committee for a concessionary sitting. The Education and Training Committee (The Committee) has some limited discretion to grant an applicant a concession.

 Any application for a concessionary sitting must:

 

 

 1.     Describe the exceptional or extenuating circumstance(s),

 2.     Describe how the circumstance(s) adversely affected the students studies and / or examination(s) performance,

 3.     Include relevant third party back up to the circumstances described, and

 4.     A non refundable application fee of €100.

 Applications will be considered on a case by case basis. A concession will only be granted when The Committee is satisfied:

5. That some unforeseen exceptional or extenuating circumstance(s) has  / have adversely affected a student’s studies and / or examination(s) performance, and

6.That the exceptional or extenuating circumstance(s) has/have passed or been resolved

Applications for such concessionary sittings may only be made in the:

i) Eight week period after the issuing of the results of the first (April diet of examinations in a calendar year,
ii) Six week period after the issuing of the results of the second (August) diet of examinations in a calendar year, and
iii) Six week period commencing February 1st each year.


Students should note that the examination entry deadlines of 1 March and 1 August must also be adhered to for applications for the April and August examinations respectively. 

 N.B A student making an application for a concessionary sitting must send the case in hard copy, (including original relevant supporting documentation) and a signed covering letter, to the Education & Training Committee, Institute of Certified Public Accountants, 17 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.
