Exams

There are four stages of examinations within the CPA syllabus:

• Formation 1
• Formation 2
• Professional 1
• Professional 2

Holders of recognised qualifications (post grad, degree, diploma, certificate, accounting technician etc.) may be entitled to various exemptions  from the CPA exams.

CPA offers flexibility in exam systems, with  no compromise on standards.      For example CPA students can:

• Sit up to 4 exams in one sitting
• Split their final stage exams, over 2 consecutive year or 4 consecutive exam sittings
• Sit exams in April and August

Study

CPA offers students flexible study options. CPA students can choose to study part-time, full-time, weekend or distance learning programmes, or any combination of these.

Students can opt to study in a number of different CPA Approved Educators, located around the country. CPA Approved Educators, have been approved by the Institute on the basis of the suitability of their tuition and their commitment to providing student support.

Student Visa Guidelines

Please note that students who require a Visa to pursue the CPA qualification, The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) have amended the Student Visa Guidelines from the 31st July 2008.

Paragraph 3 now reads as follows :

"If you do not show a satisfactory attendance rate at your course you will not be entitled to remain in the State. It is expected that students will be able to demostrate an attendance rate of 80% or higher at their chosen course of study to which the visa relates"
