How do I become a CPA?
 

Routes to entry

There are 3 main routes to entry in becoming a CPA:

  • Route 1: Hold a recognised degree, diploma, certificate, accounting technician or professional qualification
  • Route 2: School leaver
  • Route 3: Mature student

There are a number of steps involved in becoming a CPA.

While the majority of entrants have studied business or accountancy this is not essential and the qualification is open to all.
