Great Expectations - Accountancy and Business in 2018
The accountancy profession is becoming increasingly globalized. It could be argued that the globalisation of businesses has had a significant impact on the role of the professional accountant more than on any other profession. Global shared service centres have permitted large organisations to centralise business units often across multiple cultures requiring a different expectation and skillset from finance leaders.
For today's accountants , the advance of technology is changing work practices and, with it, the expectations of their clients. Whether you are an advisor in practice, a business owner or entrepreneur you need to be prepared to be innovative and stay abreast of the changing business environment.
One thing that has remained constant is the need for strong leadership to lead organisations through this interesting phase. The accounting profession is well-placed to provide the business environment with leaders who are who are competent, productive and effective leaders.
